Project Description

The new extended aeration activated sludge facility was built on a parcel of land with an existing office and pump station. The building was remodeled to serve as the operator's office. The plant's main treatment vessel was an oxidation ditch with a vertical turbine aerator and intra-channel clarifier. Common wall chlorine contact chambers, post-aeration cells, and sludge holding tank was adjacent on one side of the ditch. A small plant pump station lifted tank drainage to a new headworks. The headworks provide a mechanical and manual bar screen with a grit removal system. A ton-cylinder storage shed provided cover for the chlorination system. Sand drying beds (five with four sections each) provided ample surface area for sludge dewatering.
