Project Description

This new facility was constructed next to an existing conventional activated sludge facility. The new extended aeration activated sludge facility consisted of a simple oxidation ditch with a vertical turbine aerator and intra-channel clarifier. A new headworks with mechanical screen and grit removal system was provided. The administrative building consisted of an operator's office, wastewater laboratory, and a shop sand drying beds were provided to dewater solids. An influent pump station lifted the wastewater to the headworks for all of the city's flow in addition to serving in a secondary role as the plant pump station. Disinfection was achieved by a chlorine contact chamber with an effluent measuring cell.
